Doug Pederson: ‘Optimistic’ About Alshon Jeffery Playing In NFL Week 11
With the late addition of Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery to the injury report on Thursday, his status heading into the Week 11 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys is under question.
Jeffery is listed as questionable as the Eagles prepare to take on their division rivals. The wide receiver was limited during Thursday’s practice as a precaution according to Coach Doug Pederson. It was known that Jeffery had a groin injury earlier this season, but the ankle ailment caught everyone outside of the organization off guard.
"It's been kind of lingering a little while," stated Pederson. "It's hard for me to even put a finger on when it happened or how it happened."
Though the bye was not enough time to heal Jeffery’s ankle, the extra rest this week will hopefully put the wide receiver on the active list this Sunday.
Over the last two games of the season, Jeffery has impressed with 8 catches for 146yds. and 3 touchdowns. During the Eagles’ Week 9 win over the Denver Broncos, Jeffery caught 6 passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns in the 51-21 victory.
Impact On Eagles Vs Cowboys Betting Odds
Even with the absence of Jordan Hicks, Darren Sproles, Jason Peters, and now possible Jeffery Alson, the Eagles are still favored to win their Week 11 meeting against the Cowboys.
At Bovada Sportsbook, Eagles vs Cowboys betting odds are -280 for Philadelphia to win. The Eagles are 6-point road chalk, going 8-3 ATS in their last 8 games against the Cowboys. A win on Sunday at AT&T Stadium would only solidify NFC East dominance for the Philadelphia Eagles.
SportsBettingPennsylvania.com knows a 9-1 record would also shorten the +500 Super Bowl odds for the Philadelphia Eagles, who are only second to the Patriots in terms of title odds.
